OLYMP: the twentieth JAZZ IN OLYMP for a good cause
Bietigheim-Bissingen will once again be jazzing in style on the Corpus Christi holiday
The popular “JAZZ IN OLYMP” festival is taking place for the twentieth time on Corpus Christi – on Thursday, 30 May 2024 at 11 a.m. – at the OLYMP Bezner KG company’s grounds in Bietigheim-Bissingen (Ludwigsburg district). Initiator Eberhard Bezner is thrilled to be able to present numerous international music groups and bands for this special anniversary. The proceeds will go to the worldwide projects for children and young people that are sponsored by the OLYMP Bezner Foundation.
It all starts with JAZZ IN OLYMP on Thursday (Corpus Christi holiday), 30 May 2024 at 11:00 a.m. The Acustic Trio Joachim Kunz will get the audience in the right mood for the day in their usual fashion and will also provide background music during breaks in the programme. The official kick-off will be around midday by the Doc’s Big Band together with singer Sabine Petrich and special guest Peter Lehel. At 1.30 pm, star guest Tom Gaebel will take to the stage together with pianist and singer Max Greger junior, Jürgen Bothner and Eva Leticia as well as Professor Mini Schulz and Obi Jenne.
Then, from 3 p.m., the OLYMP All Stars will follow, led by band leader Engelbert Wrobel (clarinet/saxophone). He has once again gathered his long-standing international band members around him, including Gregor Beck (drums), Lorenzo Petrocca (guitar), Thilo Wagner (piano), Daniel Barda (trombone), Duke Heitger (trumpet), Bruce Adams (trumpet) and Lindy Huppertsberg (bass). They will be accompanied by Karl-Friedrich Fürst von Hohenzollern (saxophone/vocals). Finally, from 5:00 p.m. onwards, the young Mama Shakers from Paris will rock the hall with their distinctive and upbeat/cheeky sound, a mixture of jazz, blues and country music. The programme will once again be hosted by charming TV presenter and WELT weathergirl, Maira Rothe.
Eberhard Bezner says: “This year we’re delighted to be able to put on JAZZ IN OLYMP on OLYMP’s company grounds for the twentieth time. This festival has long since established itself as a cultural highlight in Bietigheim-Bissingen and the entire Stuttgart region. In proven collaboration with Gisela Salzer-Bothe, we’ve once again put together a highly diverse programme that covers the various styles of this fascinating music. Every cent of the proceeds from the entrance fees, raffle ticket sales and voluntary donations will go to the charitable projects we support.”
The popular raffle for a good cause also offers excellent chances to win shopping vouchers for the coveted shirts, polo shirts and other items of clothing from the fashion retailer’s range. In addition, the kids programme is just as varied. As well as a bouncy castle and face painting, the little ones can have colourful tattoos of funny motifs painted on their skin.
For over 15 years, the OLYMP Bezner Foundation – established in 2008 by Eberhard Bezner, Mark Bezner and Birgit Bezner-Fischer with a personal endowment of one million euros – has acquitted itself extremely well in its commitment to charitable causes both at home and abroad. The Foundation’s aim is to support children and young people throughout the world in the areas of education, health care and training.
